John McBride Family

John McBride was born about 1735 in Ireland or Maryland. He died in Stokes County, NC in 1824, he was 89 years old. In 1782 John recieved a land grant of 200 acres on Reed Creek (Surry Deed Book B, pages 188 and 189). By 1783 John McBride and his wife Elizabeth sold land on Little Reed Ceek (Surry Co. Deed Book C, page 91). He is found on the Stokes County Census of 1790. John and Elizabeth had at least one son, John Jr. who married Henrietta.
