This indenture made the second day of October the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty two between William Jarvis of the County of Rowan and State of North Carolina of one part and Nelson Travillion the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fourteen hundred dollars paid by him then Nelson Travillion to him then William Jarvis at on before the ?? and delivered of these presents the receipts and payment whereof is hereby acknowledged by him tho's.d. William Jarvis and that he the sd. William Jarvis doth by these presents given, prove, bargain, sell, alien, confess, conveyed, confirm unto him the said Nelson Travillion his heirs and assigns forever a certain
tract or parcel of land lying on the waters of Dutchman's Creek adjoining the lands of said Taylor John Naylor and others beginning at a stake on Samuel Austin's line and running East with his line past his corner thirty one chains and seventy five links to a Red Oak on Samuel Taylor's line, thence north thirty four chains to a Post Oak on Samuel Baseters (?) line then west eleven chains and seventy five line to a Pine stump thence North six chains and fifty three links to so Stone (soap stone?) thence west one chain and twenty five links to a Syamore Tree thence south to the beginning containing one hundred acres and nineteen acres being the same more or less, To have and to hold the aforesaid land and premises with all woods, ways, waters and appuatunances therein to belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the said Nelson Travillion his heirs and assigns forever in .... and that the said William Jarvis, his heirs, executors or administrators shall warrant and forever defend that tract or parcel of land with all of its tennants and appurtences free from all lawful claims of any person or persons whatever unto him the said Nelson Travillion his heirs and assigns forever in Witness and being the said William Jarvis hath herinunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and year first above.
