Chesher, Thomas of Oyster Bay, tailor, 25 Jan 1716. To wife Mehatabel all personal estate, & use of land during widowhood with remainder to sons Thomas & John if it is not all disposed of for their bringing up before they become of age. To dau, Persillah Wanser 5# besides what I have given her. Wife sole exx. Overseers: my two brothers-in-law Joseph & James Dickinson & my friend George Townsend.* Wits: James Springer, Richard Townsend & James Townsend, Jr.

1/18/1765 Orange Co., NY. In the name of God, Amen. This eighth day of June, 1776. I, JOHN CHESHIRE, of Oysterbay, Queens County, being sick and weak in body. My executors to pay my just debts and funeral charges. All the remaining part of my estate, I leave to my worthy friend, Cornelius Hooglant, gentleman. I make the said Cornelius Hooglant, together with his son Tunis, executors.
Witnesses, Solomon Freligh, V. D. M., Daniel Duryee, Jacob Rhinehardt, both of Queens County, yeomen. Proved, December 23, 1777.
