John Tennison's Will, October 22, 1759, St. Mary's Co., MD

In the Name of God Amen, I John Tinnison of St. Mary's County being sick & weak of Body but of sound and perfect health and memory Thanks be to God for the same and first disannuling and revoking all wills before by me made do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament In manner and for me following Viz't First and principally I will my Soul to almighty God that gave it me and my Body to be dueally buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter to be mentioned and as for my worldly goods I dispose of in manner & for me following Viz't.

Item I give and bequeath to my Brother Absolom Tennison all my wearing Cloaths and he is not to have any other part of my Estate I will and bequeath to my Sister Ann Millard one shilling Sterling and she is not to have any other part of my Estate I will and bequeath to my brother Joseph Tennison one Shilling Sterling and he is not to have any other part of my Estate I give and bequeath to my Brother Joshua Tennison one Shilling Sterling and he is not to have any other part of my Estate

Item I will and bequeath to John Sutton one young mare. I will and bequeath to Thos. Green one young mare and my Wife is to pay the said mares at her discretion and according to their behaverer to her. I will and bequeath to my Sister Mary Tennison five hundred pounds of Crop Tabs yearly and every year during her Life to be paid out of my Estate and laid out at the discretion of my Wife during her life and after her decease my Will is that my nephew John Tennison shall receive the said Tabs and lay it out for the use of my Sister aforesaid.

Item I will bequeath to my well beloved Wife Susanna all the Crop of corn as is now growing and a sufficient quantity of meat to supply her family the next year Ensuing and that it is not to be appraised nor accounted for in my Estate.

Item I will and bequeath to my Loving wife Susanna the use of all my Estate both real & personal during her natural life and after her decease the one half of my said Estate to be equally divided amongst my brother Absolom Tennison. Children as shall be then living and John Perry, son of Susannh Perrey and the other half Entirely at my Wives disposing in Consideration of her Right of marriage my will and desire is that after the death of my wife that the Tabs above mentioned to be paid to my Sister Mary shall be paid out of that half as I leave to Absolom Tennisons Children and whosoever the Estate in their Behalf shall pay the said Tabs to John Tennison abovesaid For the use of my Sister abovesaid -- And lastly I do Constitute and appoint my well beloved Wife Susannah my whole and Sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 22d day of October 1759.
