In the Name of God Amen.
I George Wightman of Rowan County in the State of North Carolina Being very weak in Body But of perfect mind and memory thanks be given to God - Calling unto mind the mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last will & testament that is to say, principally & first of all I gave & recommend my soul into the hand of allmighty God that gave it, and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be Buried in a decent Christian Burial at the discretion of my Exeutors nothing douting But at the Geneal Resurrection, I shall Receive the same again by the mighty power of God, and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this life I give, devise and dispose of the same in the following manner. First, it is my will that all my just debts be paid out of my movable effects - Then I give and bequeath unto my Dearly Beloved wife Mary Wightman and loving son Jacob Weightman one hundred acres of land of the north end of my homestede place adjoining the Moravian line to them, their heirs and assigns forever. I then give and bequeath my three daughters Mary, Elizabeth and Reachel Weightman the remainder part of my homested place of sixty acres Including my improvement to be equally divided between them, their heirs and assigns forever provided nevertheless that my wife shall he the sole priviledge of my Improvement for two whole years after my decesse and my daughters to live with her if they choose during the sd. term of time.
I then give and Bequeath to my three daughters Mary, Elizabeth and Rachel Weightman to each of them one Feather Bed & furniture as they now claim them. - I then give and bequeath to my wife and son each of them a bed. I then desire that my debts be paid out of my moveable property as aforsaid and the remender part to be dqually divided between my wife and children.
I do hereby Constitute and appoint my wife Mary Weightman and my daughter Mary Weightman my executors of this my last will and testament - and I do hereby uterly disallow revock & disanull all and every other former wiols or testaments made by me in witness where of I have here unto set my hand and seal this Twenty fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninty eight.
Signed, sealed published pronounced and delivered by the said George Weightman as his Last Will & Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of Each other have unto suscribed our names.
