July 26, 1875. In the name of God amen. I William Jarvis, being of sound and
disposing mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of life, do make
this my last will and testament, in manner and form following: I hereby give
devise and bequeath to my wife Nancy Jarvis all of my estate and effects both
real and personal during her life time or widder hood (sic), by here giving
of to my heirs at home as I have to them that has left me after move or come
of age. If she my wife Nancy marries, I want all of my property both real and
personal to be equally divided between my children. I hereby constitute and
appoint my son Ransom Jarvis executor of this my last will and testament
hereby revoking all others. Witness my hand and seal this the twenty six day
of July one thousand eight hundred and seventy five. (witnesses E.M. Felts,
Linsey Jarvis), William (x) Jarvis.
A separate form completed by Linsay and for the probate stated: Linsay
Jarvis, being sworn doth say: That William Jarvis, late of said County, is
dead, having first made and published his last Will and Testament; and that
Ransom Jarvis is the executor named therein. Further, that the property of
the said William Jarvis consisting of land and personal property is worth
about $1200 so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application; and
that Nancy Jarvis widow of said decedant, Richard Jarvis, Lodemia Mitchel,
Ransom Jarvis, Leander Jarvis, Joseph Jarvis, Sarah Ann Lunsford, Alonzo
Jarvis, Thomas Jarvis, ---- Jarvis, Wiley Jarvis, Lindsay Jarvis, Ida Jarvis,
Coon Jarvis, are the parties entitled under said will to the said property.
Sworn and subscribed before me, this 25th day of February, 1876. (signed by
A.H.Horton, Probate Judge, and Linsay Jarvis.
