To all men to whom these presents shall come I Jonathan Cheshire do send greeting, Know ye that I the said Jonathan Chesher of the County of Rowan and state of North Carolina for sundry good causes and weighty considerations me here unto moving, but more especially for the good will and natural affection, which I have and do have towards my children & grandchildren namely Sally Jarvis, Nancey Orrell the children of my daughter Elizabeth Booe, Phillip, Mary, Issac & John Booe, Tinison Cheshire the children of my daughter Ciller Sain, Delpha Angenetta and Mary Sain, Susanna Jarvis one hundred dollars to be deducted out of her part, Jonathan Chesher, Lucy Sain, have given and granted and by these presents do freely give & grant unto the said Sally Jarvis, Nancy Orrell, Philip,Mary, Issac & John Booe, Tinison Chesher, Delpha Anginetta & Mary Sain, Susanna Jarvis one hundred dollars less as before stated, Jonathan Chesher & Lucy Sain their heirs executors or admrs a certain tract or parcel of land lying and being the county of Rowan & state of North Carolina adjoining William Dooling Benjamin Howard, William Howard and others containing four hundred and forty nine acres be the same more or less together with all woods waters profits and appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining and I do hereby autherise & appoint James Jarvis Sen. & John Orrell to see and convey the said 449 acres of land as soon as possible and in the best advantage and the money arising there from to be divided as followeth, Sally Jarvis, Nancy Orrell, Tinison Chesher Jonathan Chesher and Lucy Sain or their heirs the four children of Elizabeth Booe, namely Philip Mary  Issac & John Booe to have as much as one of my own children that to be equally divided between the four Susanna Jarvis or her heirs to have one hundred dollars less than & the rest, the three children of Ciller Sain to have as much as one of my own children named Delpha, Anginette & Mary Sain, and I the said Jonathan Chesher do give andgrant unto my children and grandchildren the profits arising from the  said 449 acres of land, & I do autherise and impower the said James Jarvis Sen. and John Orrell to see and convey the said Land and the money arising there fromto divide equally between the aforesaid legatees & money that will be coming to my grandchildren I autherise andimpower the said James Jarvis Sen. & John Orrell to approprite the said money to the use of their education or be paid to them as they come of age. In witness whereof I the said Jonathan Chesher have hereunto set my hand & seal this 27th of October 1830.
