The letters and documents that were sent to me by Edna Royster and her sister Wanda of Pierce City, Missouri are unique in that they provide us with a detailed history of every day life in NC and Missouri and family relationships. They are certainly a link back to Nathan's Jarvis family in North Carolina. Why did he leave NC with the Douthits and move to Missouri? Does the Hanes family have any of Nathan's letters?

Obviously, these letters meant a great deal to Nathan Jarvis as he and then his descendants kept the letters for over 140 years. Following is a list of letters and documents in chronological order. Keep in mind that it is believed that Nathan Jarvis left North Carolina for Missouri about 1851 or 1852.
