Crim Family

First Generation

Jacob Crim and Mary Button came to NC from Virginia. His will was probated in Stokes Co. NC in 1829.

James Crim was born about 1784 in Virginia, son of Jacob Crim and Mary Button, and reportedly married Eleanor Cook. Census records suggest that they had at least four sons and three daughters, and that Eleanor died between 1840 and 1850. James died in 1854.

The marriage record for Harrison Pitts is to Jane Crim, daughter of James and Johanna. Since Mary Isabelle Crim can be identified as their daughter from the Forsyth Co. death records, and apparently did not marry, we believe that Jane must be the child who appears in some records as Ellen J.
