Norman Family

James S. Norman (1793-1870) married Mary (Polly) McKnight (1796-1844), daughter of George McKnight and Aaltje Elrod, in 1816. In 1848, James married Mary Christina Hauser (1805-1877). We don't know anything yet about his origins - can anyone help?

*Meredith Norman's wife appears in 1850 as Belinda. In 1860, she is listed as Belinda and Malinda respectively in duplicate entries for their household. In 1870, she appears as Mary B. In daughter Mary's marriage record, it's Verlinda. In the Forsyth Co. cemetery records book she appears as M. Melinda Norman. Assuming this entry is correct, we are taking Melinda as the preferred version of her name.
