Scott

John Scott (1812-1883) married Mary Sprinkle (1817-1879), d/o Thomas Sprinkle and Elizabeth Apperson. In the 1850 Forsyth County census, John, Mary and their children appear as SCHOTT. Nancy SHUTT age 80 and Austin SHUTT age 47 are living with them. In later census years, they are consistently SCOTT, but we suspect based on the 1850 census that they may have a connection to the Schott or Shutt family.

Update: Ann Nicholson Flint has identified John and Austin as the sons of Leonard Scott and Nancy Butts Martin.
