*Previously we thought Elizabeth's husband was Johann Georg Spach (1786-1866), based on Records of the Moravians in NC 9:5279 which lists the marriage of Elisabeth Butner and Johannes Spach on 3 Feb 1848, and indexes this to Spach, John George. The new volume (12) of the Moravian records makes it clear that her husband was Johann Spach born 1782, whose first wife was Anna Catharina Knauss. The reference in the index of volume 9 to John George Spach is probably an error on the part of the editors of that volume.

James Jurney's book lists James Clementine and John as sons of Michael and Mary Ann (George) but makes Calvin Benjamin the son of Edward Samuel and Mary Ann (Wolff) Butner. However, the marriage record for Calvin gives his father's name as Mike F. Butner, and he is only 11 months younger than Edward's son George Nathaniel Butner, which would be an unusually close child spacing for this time and place.
Michael Frey Butner died in 1854. In 1860, Mary Ann is head of household, with James age 12 and John, listed in the Forsyth Co. Genealogical Society transcription as age 1. We suspect this should be 7. Calvin Benjamin is not listed with her. In 1870 he is age 17, living with his uncle Heinrich Herman Butner.
